Start Your Day Off Right

Most of the time we are as guilty as you are and run out of the house in a mad rush. Unfortunately, slowing down and grabbing something to eat in the morning is a vital start to your day.  Breakfast gives you energy for a new day and has health benefits. It fills you up to prevent over snacking and gives you the energy you need to perform. Below we are sharing with you a couple of our staff’s favorite breakfast recipes.

Easy Breakfast Burrito

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 whole wheat tortilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons salsa
  • a sprinkle shredded gouda cheese
  • a dab of sour cream

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Scramble 2 eggs on medium heat till fluffy
  • Layer the eggs, salsa, cheese and sour cream in the tortilla
  • ENJOY!

Banana Nut Overnight Oats

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 small chopped banana
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or nut butter)
  • 2/3 cup of vanilla almond milk
  • a dash of cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a jar place ½ cup of oats and 2/3 cup of vanilla almond milk
  • Mix in peanut butter, banana and cinnamon
  • Place lid on jar
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours
  • ENJOY hot or cold
